Happy New Year Southsiders! New year, new film festivals!
Happy New Year! Hope you have all recovered from the festive season and are surviving cold dark wet January. Never fear, as we have lots of cinematic entertainment to look forward to in February!
We are happy to announce that Southside Film Festival partners up with Glasgow Short Film Festival and Glasgow Film Festival so you will be spoilt for cinematic choice!
First up is the Glasgow Short Film Festival and we will be hosting screening of the inaugural Scottish Short Film Competition with 5 screenings over the weekend at The Shed over the weekend of 10-12 Feb.
You can find out more about the films and buy tickets here. Download our flyer.
You can vote for your favourite short at the screenings and the winner will be announced on Sunday evening at the CCA.
If that isn't enough, we have teamed up with the Glasgow Film Festival to bring you another silent film classic The Phantom of the Opera with live Wurtlizer accompaniment on Sunday 26th February at Pollokshaws Burgh Hall. Doors 7pm, film and music, 7.30pm.

You can find out more and buy tickets here. Download our flyer.
If you missed Nosferatu in May and Caligari at Halloween with the Wurtlizer, you will not want to miss Lon Chaney's Phantom in Feb '12 in the wonderfully atmospheric Pollokshaws Burgh Hall. Icecream available as usual!
See you all in front of all the Southside screens next month!

New website
We have given our website a bit of a facelift which is now live and we'll be adding information about the plans for the 2012 festival to it in the future.
I'd like to point out that the website is best viewed in Google Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer 8. Some elements will not display correctly in IE 9 but this can be corrected by using the compatibility view.
